Burning Man 2004
Decided to go to burning man on the spur of the moment this year. A few days before the event began, I was talking with a girl I met on craigslist and she had a ticket but no one to go with. I said what the hey, we met up and while there was no romantic connection we thought it would still be fun to go together. I borrowed some tent supplies from Eric and put together this nice little sun shelter complete with christmas lights and sky chair.

The artistic highlight this year was David Best's temple. I don't have a picture of the whole thing but it was nearly 200' tall and 1/4 mile wide! It was completely made up of intricately cut pieces of plywood as you can see here.

Thousands of people spontaneously gathered at the temple to watch the sunrise after the night of the burn. It was a time of quiet appreciation: of natures beauty, the magnificence of the temple, of the amazing experiences we had the night and week before.

And of course, sunday night, it all went up in flames.
Fire Breathing Dragons.
This was a very cool installation comprised of time lapse castings of a diver entering the water. The whole structure would turn at night and was illuminated by a strobe light giving the appearance that the diver was diving into the desert floor.
Cool forms of transportation:

And as always, beautiful sunsets.
