Touching from the Heart

April 10, 2007

Aloha everyone!

Thought you might like to see some pictures of my little jungle shack that I'm settling into. Click on the picture below if you want to see some more.

I just finished a 12 day intensive Massage workshop called Touching From the Heart.....and Intense it was! I've always wanted to learn how to massage people properly and when Robinette told me that her friend was teaching this workshop I knew it was my time. We were in class 8-10 hours a day and most of it was hands on. This means we were both giving and receiving 1-2 massages a day! I enjoyed it so much, I even bought my own massage table.

The workshop included techniques for a type of bodywork done in a heated saltwater pool called Watsu. While I'm not intending to do watsu myself, the presence that is required as well as the flowing nature of the work brings itself nicely to the massage table.

Here's the whole massage gang: Peggy, Develin, Keith, Chris, Jared, Arthur, Pauline, Me, Ben, Robert, Lani, Nicolay (the teacher), and Robinette

The last day of the intensive, Robinette and I headed down to the beach to relax after completing the class...and we were greeted by a pod of spinner dolphins! We put on our mask and snorkel and fins and jumped in and swam with them! They were sleeping which involves swimming in a lazy serpentine loop, comming up for air every 3-5 minutes. I would follow them underwater and when they surfaced for air, I was right in the middle of the pod! The first time, I thought it was a dream but it happened over and over....incredible.

A few days later was Denis' birthday. We celebrated over several days and here he is with a beautiful jade vine lei (and new birthday bling of course!).

Finally, we came across this little critter while hiking in a lava tube, I thought he was kind of cool looking.

It's looking more and more like I'll be back for a visit Junish, so hopefully I'll see you all soon.

Aloha.
