New York City

It sure was great to see Kai after almost a year since we moved 5000 miles in opposite directions. He had a couple of days off to show me around the city. The first night, I had to go to times square to see all the craziness.

This is his apartment on the upper east side, and quite big from what I've heard about manhattan apartments.

Seeing the statue of liberty was impressive. It's one of those things I've seen so many times in pictures, ads, movies, etc, but to see it in person with my own eyes made me really appreciate it.

We walked across the brooklyn bridge which was beautiful in it's own way.

At every tourist attraction, there were your typical buskers--playing music, painted metallic gold like Elvis, dressed as the statute of liberty, etc ....however this guy had is own thing going. I though he was hilarious...just rocking away on his xylophone, completely oblivious to everyone around.

When Kai went back to work, I headed to a few museums. This was a cool 60's exhibit at the Whitney museum of American art. It was a room filled with very colorful organic forms covered in padding and cloth. Every nook was perfect for sitting, lying, or otherwise lounging around. I'd love to make something like this for my living room sitting area!

I wanted to go to another museum but I'm not so into paintings...so I went to the Natural history museum, they had a frog exhibit and I thought this Monkey Frog had an exceptional amount of character.

I'm headed back to the bay area for a couple of weeks, I can't wait to see you all!
